Make sure to check out the preview of Chapter One from Book Two of The New Zed Order. I don't have a title yet, but I'm working on it. This is just a teaser and not even all of Chapter One, but I hope it's enough to whet your appetite. I am shooting for a Spring 2010 release, if all continues to go well. Thanks again for stopping by.

Thanks to everyone who read and enjoyed my work.
The dead have come back and they are hungry. They are
deadly, they are tough, and they are everywhere. Savage
packs of undead wander the world, feeding on the living.
And they are getting stronger.
Brattleboro, Vermont was a small, quiet town filled with
good people and small town charm until something
brought the dead back to life and turned them loose on
an unsuspecting world.
John Mason and his lovely young wife Sara believe that
family can survive anything. Together, along with their
brave little puppy, they take to the mountains of John's
youth and build a stronghold against the encroaching
darkness, protecting not only themselves but their families
and others lucky enough to SURVIVE in
THE NEW ZED ORDER.
My name is Todd Sprague. Some know me as Lomodus. Others know me as Hillman. A few even know me as Nitrace. I hope after reading my story you will know me as "that guy that wrote that really great zombie book".
I have decided to post part of my book "Survive, Book One of The New Zed Order" here, in the hopes that folks will enjoy it and want to read more. Let's face it, there is nothing better than the feel of a good book in your hands, the smell of the paper and glue, the way the words jump at you from the vibrant white paper...
Survive is a book about not only survival in a time of Zombies with a capital Zed, but of love, family, and sacrifice. The first book follows a young couple on their journey from the normal every day life we all lead, through an unspeakable apocalypse where the dead do not simply lie down. Family and sacrifice and guns and puppies play equal parts in this novel of Survival in the New Zed Order.
Not another zombie story, you say? Well, I wanted to write a story about not only survival, but of how a family would survive. Not just desperate loners, drifters, gangs, or soldiers, but a real, connected family. An extended family at times, but still a family. I firmly believe that in every situation, not just zombies, that it's family that will get us through, that will keep us going when everything else tells us to just lie down and die. That's why I decided to put Survive, Book One of The New Zed Order down to pen and paper, so to speak.
Why Zed, you ask? No, I'm not Canadian, but hey, it's my book! Also, it just sounds cooler in a battle cry. "The Zeds are coming! The Zeds are coming!"
Nearly every character in my story is heavily based on a real person in my family, or in my wife's family, with a few friends thrown in for good measure. Though the character is based on someone real, their actions are from my imagination and are not necessarily reflective of the real people behind the character (I had to put that in for legal reasons). I hope that adds something unique to the story, a depth of character that I might not have otherwise achieved.
I welcome any and all comments, feedback, and suggestions. I take constructive criticism well, but generally ignore malicious comments. And please, I know the website is basic, but it's free, and right now, it'll do.
As you can see, I have a message board up, but you are also welcome to send any comments to me directly at sprague_t@yahoo.com. I have even posted a cast of characters on the forum for anyone who is overwhelmed by the size of the family. I know that there are a lot of folks to get to know, but rest assured we will meet them all in detail eventually.
Ultimately, the most I can hope for is that you read my story and enjoy it.
Thank you.
